Hi, all!
Good day to you!
This topic aims to show the proper way of adding and configuring correctly a new participant in SMC2.0.
Solution
There are several steps in adding and configuring correctly a new participant endpoint in SMC2.0.
Please follow the steps in the exact order presented in this topic for achieving this.
1. Configuring a participant.
The main feature of an SMC is to centralize and manage participants after they are correctly configured and added to the SMC platform.
You need to know that before configuring a participant, double-check that:
The endpoint and SMC of appropriate versions are used.
The endpoint is running properly and does not join any conferences.
For achieving this we are using a TE30 device as an example.
2. Setting connection parameters for an endpoint.
a. Log in to the endpoint web interface.
b. Choose System Settings > General to set the API user.
Set the API user parameters as per the below image (by default username is api and the password is Change_Me)

3. Go to System Settings > Network > SNMP Settings, set SNMP parameters.
The SNMP Settings tab page is displayed as per the below image.

Set the parameters as above and and click Save.
Please note that the default value of Authentication protocol is MD5SHA and default Authentication password is Change_Me. The default value of Encryption protocol is DESAES and default Encryption password is also Change_Me.
4. Go to System Settings > Display > Site, to set participant name for the endpoint.
Under Site Name, set the participant name and then click Save
5. Go to System Settings > Network > H.323/SIP Settings, set H.323 parameters.
Set the parameters as per the below example

6. Adding a Participant on the SMC
NOTE: All the settings (username/passwords, authentication protocols and passwords/ encryption protocols and passwords must be the same as you used in the TE30 device's configuration)
a. Log in to the SMC2.0 web interface.
b. Go to Devices > Participants and then click Add Participant and the below page will be displayed:

c. Set the parameters as shown.
please note that the default value of Authentication protocol is MD5SHA and default Authentication password is Change_Me. The default value of Encryption protocol is DESAES and default Encryption password is also Change_Me.
d. Participant settings must be configured:

e. Click Add and Save the settings.
Thanks for reading, hope it can help you!
