Hello, everyone!

What are the optical port modes of the M40/D40 board? How to configure the optical port modes?

Thank you!

Hello ,

Usually you use in the first stage the even channels in the c band , that means the integer number
192.1 /192.2 / 192.3 / 192.4 ......196.0
These 40 channels with 100G separation band called even channels .

And you must buy the M40/D40 that works in the even channels .

After using them all and if you still need to expand your system then you can buy the M40/D40 that works in odd channels and combine them together using a board ( ITL) .

The odd channels starts from 192.150 /192.250 /192.350 ......196.050 . the separation is also 100G

- in all cases you will need (OTU optical transponder Unit ) to change your signal into C band , for example LSX .

now all new OTU support C-Band odd and even channels you just need to choose which one you need .

I hope you got the idea . Regards

Hello,

The MON port of M40 board has 10 dB lower optical power than the IN port of the D40 board and the OUT port of the M40V board.
The split ratio between the MON port and OUT port and that between the MON port and IN port are both 10:90. In other words, the optical power of the MON port is 10 dB lower than that of the IN port. The calculation formula is as follows: Optical power (dBm) of the IN port ? Optical power (dBm) of the MON port = 10 x lg(90/10) = 10 dB.

Hi
What do u mean With power mode , if you mean the wavelength , you should use suitable transponder board to change the optical power to one of the 40 wavelength of M40/D40 Boards .

If you mean the power value .
In transmit You should adjust the power of all channels to be almost the same when get in the M40 .
in receive you dont need to adjust them when they get to the D40 except if it was too high .

Dear Malik3000!
According to the documentation, before using the M40/D40 board, you need to set the band carried by the port to odd or even wavelengths. Is that correct?
What is the setup process?

HELLO
1,There's M4001(C_EVEN)  and M4002(C_ODD),all called M40. The port information please check the follow picture, for D40 board also same.

2,Each M40 board multiplexes a maximum of 40 channels of signals into one channel of signals,So both C_EVEN and C_ODD connect to ITL board can hold 80 channels.

3,If there's "V" included into the board means there's VOA with each channel. like M40V or D40V.

4,Currently there's M48/D48 also.

for more information you can check the product document by visit website support.huawei.com

the following picture just M40 as e.g

M4001

M4002
