HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)

Dear All,

I am currently working on a case where the topology is like this, my customer is a Building owner

Internet <-> switch core <->OLT<->ONT.

The IT dept in this building will rent 1 uplink with speed ~2Gbps, and they want to design an internet service package and resell it to every apartment in this building. Internet packages include 80Mbps, 100Mbps & 200Mbps ( it is the peak access rate, not the commit access rate)

My question is in our OLT, is there any configuration to support them to configure for each apartment with the proper internet package design.

With the limitation of GPON downlink speed (2.5Gbps), does it mean I only can configure 2.5Gbps/200Mbps users?

Another issue, if in this area, they have 3 different ISPs provide internet, can IT department design each user with the desired package from the desired ISP? How to do it?

In case of customers do not want to buy an IP package from the IT department, can they use service from ISP directly in our OLT & ONT which is already been installed (our OLT & ONT exists in the ISP network already).

Thank you so much!!

Hi friend.

1. Yes, DBA is mentioned because I do not know the DBA mode configured in the upstream direction. It is recommended that you do not set the DBA mode to fixed bandwidth or guaranteed bandwidth if there are too many users connected in the downstream direction. This may affect user experience. For the downstream configuration, if you need to set the PIR and CIR parameters, you are advised to set the CIR parameter to 200 Mbit/s based on your requirements. The PIR will be automatically generated.

2. Different ISPs define different VLANs. Therefore, if a user needs to re-bind the VLAN configuration of the related ISP when switching to an ISP, you need to learn the information from different ISPs.

Thanks.

Hi friend.

1. Whether the requirement can be met depends on how the upstream DBA of the OLT is configured. If the fixed bandwidth or guaranteed bandwidth is configured, a large number of PON port resources are occupied, and the number of ONTs connected to the downstream is limited.

2. Whether the ISP service can be used depends on whether the VLAN configuration matches the ISP VLAN configuration. If the user wants to use the ISP 1 service, you need to configure the line from VLAN 1 of ISP 1 to the switch to the OLT and then to the ONT.

I do not know the current OLT configuration and the number of connected ONTs. Therefore, I cannot provide a detailed solution. I can only provide the preceding suggestions.

Thank you!

Hi bro.
1. As I know the DBA is for the consideration of uplink from ONT to OLT. I think my issue more related to the downlink from OLT to ONT. In this case, I am considering of using "traffic table ip" with pir & cir parameters. In this case, does it have any relationship between pir/cir with a GPON port speed (2.5Gbps)
2. You mean we define different vlan for different ISP, then bind the service-port vlan accordingly for each user?
