Abnormal switches power fail

Hello!

Several times we got the same fault with S1720-28GFR-4TP and S1720-28GFR-4TP switches. Some times when power fail occurs, the switch don’t power on after resuming the power. And switch stay turned off even when power is on it. Plug off and plug in of the power cord didn’t restore the functionality of the switch.

The solution is to plug off the power cord or turn off the mains of the switch for several minutes (about 5 to 10). I think that it can be some problems with capacitors inside the switch that are release its power during that pause and after that switch work fine.

Is there any alarm generated after the switch is powered on? If it is confirmed that the switch hardware is faulty, You'd better send the sent back the switch to the after-sales department for repair.

Hello!
From our about 60 switches there were only 3-4 such fails. One make switch unusable at all and it was replaced. Others restores by themselves. When the second switch was fault this way we initiate service request but it turn to life while we made it :) Third turn to life when it was transported to our department. They are work fine after making a long pause after such fail. No long pauses are needed after first good startup.
No alarms are generated.
About last fail (the 4 one) I have some additional information. It was happened because the circuit breaker detected the overload and cut off the phase wire. Then electricman came and turn it on again. It take some time, but the switch didn't turn on. After we came there we turn it off, wait several minutes, turn it on again and everything start to work.
