Brpcade original factory reply:

The error 6520 switch to panic with Oops: Exception in kernel mode, sig: 5 [#1] is a known issue with the 6520.

Error in the ASIC that caused high CPU during information gathering. Fixed in versions will recover without panic.

Recommendation: Upgrade needed to v7.4.2 minimum to avoid panic during SS when transient errors are found in ASIC. Also fixed in 8.1.0, 8.0.2a. The fix prevents the switch from sig: 5 panicking when a transient parity error stalls the CPU.

[Solution]

Upgrade Version to 742d

Upgrade path:

Currently, 7.2.1- > 730 > 740a-> 742d

[Check After Restoration]

SNS are not reset during log collection.

[Applicable Scope]

SNS3096, versions earlier than 7.4.1
