Possible Cause
  1. The network between the PC where the client is installed (PC client for short) and the decoder is abnormal.
  2. The parameters for connecting the decoder to the IVS system are incorrectly set.
  3. The firewall of the PC client disables port 5050 of the decoder.

Solution

  1. Run the ping command to check the network connection between the PC client and the decoder.

    • If the network is properly connected, go to 2.
    • If the network is abnormal, locate and rectify the network fault and check whether the fault is rectified.

If the fault is rectified, no further action is required. If the fault persists, go to the next step.

  2. Check whether the parameters for connecting the decoder to the IVS system are incorrectly set.
    1. Open a web browser, enter the decoder IP address in the address box, and press Enter.
    2. Enter the user name and password. The decoder web page is displayed.
    3. Choose Settings > Network Configuration > Client Parameters.
    4. Check whether Client IP is correctly set and whether Port number is set to 5050.

      • If a parameter is incorrectly set, correct it and check whether the fault is rectified.

If the fault is rectified, no further action is required. If the fault persists, go to 3.

      • If the parameters are correctly set, go to the next step.

  3. Check whether port 5050 of the decoder is isolated by the firewall.
    1. Check whether the firewall of the PC client is enabled.

Choose Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall on the PC client and view firewall status.

      • If the firewall is enabled, go to the next step.

    2. Click Advanced settings. The Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window is displayed.
    3. Click Inbound Rules. In the Inbound Rules list that is displayed, find the inbound rule whose Local Port is 5050.

    4. Check whether the Action parameter of port 5050 is set to Allow.

      • If yes, go to 3.e.
      • If no, choose Properties > General, and select Allow the connection in the Actions area. Then click OK and go to the next step.

    5. Check whether the Enable parameter of port 5050 is set to Yes.
      • If no, right-click and choose Enable Rule from the shortcut menu. Then go to the next step.
