Hi Huawei Community!
After the repeated virtual events hosted by Huawei so far this year, it was time for our company to act also as co-hosts in an extraordinary online broadcast.
'Protecting Critical Infrastructure from Cyber Attacks' was the title of the webinar hosted by the prestigious publication Financial Times Live in conjunction with Huawei last Tuesday on the topic of how important cybersecurity has become for all users.

This post will summarize the events happened during the 'Protecting Critical Infrastructure from Cyber Attacks' webinar, while also providing some highlights on the trends currently picturing in the cybersecurity world.
CONTEXT OF THE EVENT
Given the recent boom in technologies like the Cloud, Big Data, AI or the Blockchain, cyberthreats have also become part of tech companies' everyday business. Being mainly owned and operated by the private sector, critical digital infrastructure is oftentimes overlooked in terms of regulation and consistency. Nowadays, not only companies store their information digitally, governments do too, which means cybersecurity has transcended from a private sector issue to a geopolitical one.
This is the main aspect driving the initiation of cooperation between the public and private sectors on the topic of cybersecurity and the first step has already been made.
CONTENT OF THE EVENT
During the 1-hour period that the event took place, various subjects revolving around protecting critical infrastructure from cyber attacks were discussed by the speakers that participated in it.

MEMORABLE QUOTES
Valuable industry highlights were shared during an event as grand as the 'Protecting Critical Infrastructure from Cyber Attacks' webinar. I would like to leave you with some food for thought reagarding the direction cybersecurity is heading within the global geopolitical context:
'Who should monitor the integrity of the software and hardware supply chain to identify vulnerabilities across integrated systems?';
'Where are the vulnerabilities in the technologies and systems which underpin critical infrastructure? How can threats be mitigated?'
'What can be done to ensure that there is a sufficient supply of cyber security experts available to provide adequate defence?'
CONCLUSION
All in all, a productive week in the worldwide security industry. A week which confirms us, once again, that humanity's power to overcome even the most complex of threats is limitless, especially when we all come together towards the greater good of the species.
