Symptoms
Twenty-nine disks are reported faulty when a high-density disk enclosure is connected for the first time. The following figure shows the event log:

Cause
After a CPLD upgrade of the high-density disk enclosure, SES B and SES C as well as disks managed by SES B and SES C are powered off. They are not powered back on until the necessary power-on command is executed. However, the upgrade process is complete after the CPLD upgrade, and the BDM starts to process disk connection requests while disks are still in the power-on connection process. As a result, disk connection failure occurs.
Identification Method
1. Locate the cause of the disk fault. Search by keyword getpartitionfailed to find faulty disks whose partitioning information fails to be read. Then search by keyword mpPrintErrData to find out the cause of partition reading failure.

2. Check whether CPLD or SES upgrade has been performed during disk connection.
