Here's my summary about how to install quorum software on a virtual machine.
Steps
1. Download the corresponding version of quorum software package from support website.
Upload the correct package to the VM.
2. Make sure the VM has all the necessary tools and components required for installing the quorum server:
List of tools needed: openssl, useradd, groupadd, chown, tar, and bzip2.
*You can simply run command (tool name) to check if the tool exists.
3. Decompress the xxx.zip package of the quorum software
Goto directry package and run the ./quorum_server.sh -install command
# Enter "Y" to confirm installation.
# Press "Enter". By default, the system installs the quorum software with user quorumsvr.
# Set the password of the quorumsvr user. To ensure account security, change the password periodically.
# Repeat the password.
After the installation is completed, run the qsadmin command to access the quorum command view
Run the help command to display the command help.
Run the ps -elf |grep quo* command in any directory of the quorum server.
If ./bin/quorum_serverd is displayed, the installation is successful.
4. For different systems, ther's a high chance that you need to handle the firewall.
For example, run the systemctl stop firewalld command to disable the firewall.
5. In the quorum command view ,
run the add server_ip ip=xx.xx.xx.xx port=xxxx command to add the IP address and port number of quorum server.
6. Choose Data Protection > HyperMetro > Quorum Server on the DM
Add a quorum server on both the local and remote sites.
7. In the quorum command view, run the show server_ip command to check the current arbitration configuration.
