Here’s a case that a device fails to be powered on due to a BBU fault.
Symptoms
The system fails to be powered on. The message "Failed to check BBU status." is displayed on the ISM.
Log in to the ISM (if it has been opened, close it first). The following information is displayed.

If "Failed to check BBU status" occurs, the system will surely enter the "Safe Mode".
Therefore, if the preceding interface is displayed, it can be sure that the fault is caused by "Failed to check BBU status".
Alarm Information
None
Possible Causes
The BBU has not been inserted or is removed.
The BBU is faulty.
Battery is low on the BBU. The powering on times out. When the BBU has not been fully charged, the indicator blinks green.
Identification Method
The "Failed to check BBU status" message is displayed after a user logs in to the ISM.
Troubleshooting Procedure
If the BBU is removed, insert it and verify that it is online.
Then, press the power button on the device to power on the device.
Log in to the ISM. If the "System startup failure" message is displayed, contact the R&D personnel.
If the BBU has not been removed and the indicator is red, the BBU is faulty.
Replace the BBU and press the power button to power on the device.
If the BBU has not been removed and the indicator blinks green, the BBU is being charged.
Wait until the indicator stops blinking.
Then, press the power button to power on the device.
Check After Recovery
Verify that the system is powered on normally.
The device interface is displayed after a user logs in to the ISM.
The system information is displayed after a user logs in to the CLI
