Hi there!
This time, I will share with you a case about the failure to upgrade a trail to an ASON service.
Problem Description
At a site, a traditional trail fails to be upgraded to an ASON service, and the following error message is displayed:

Handling Process
1. Check the OCh link of the traditional trail. The E2E trail is displayed properly and no alarm is reported.
2. Check the source and sink nodes. The optical and electrical boards are configured separately. The OSPF communication between the optical and electrical NEs is normal.
3. Check whether the ASON attribute of each NE is enabled and whether all NEs are in the same ASON domain along with the signal flow. It is found that the function was enabled and in the same domain.
4. Check the optical cross-connection information of each NE. It is found that the OAU board on one NE is connected to the DCU board on the other NE through logical fiber connections.
Root Cause
On an ASON link, a complete optical cross-connection can be created only on one NE. In this case, the OAU board is connected to the DCU of another NE.
Solution
It is recommended that DCU boards be re-deployed according to ASON service design rules. All optical-layer boards in an optical cross-connection are located on the same NE.
That's all, welcome everyone to leave a message and exchange in the comment area!
Thank you!
