Hello everyone!
This time I will share with you a case about the OSN1800 logic board not being added, causing the device to fail to work.
Problem description:
The OSN 1800 OADM subrack cannot be started or monitored.
Handling Procedure:
Confirm the fault and verify that the OSN 1800 OADM subrack cannot be started and the NMS cannot monitor the fault.
Ensure that the device is OSN1800II and supports the OADM frame. (OSN1800V does not support this function.)
Check that the straight-through cable is correctly connected to the OCTL port. If the network cable is faulty, the fault persists even after the network cable is replaced.
This problem occurs on the two OADM boards on the live network. The possibility of the problem coming from the equipment or board is small.
Further inspection, it is found that the user misoperatedly to add a slave shelf through the network management;
On the NE Panel, click Show/Hide Extended Slot to add a logical board. The problem is solved. (The logical slot 12-15 is a hidden slot and the OADM frame occupies the slot.)

Root Cause:
The OADM frame cannot be started because no logical board is added.
Solution:
Repeat step 6 to add logical boards.
Suggestions and Summary:
The OSN1800I and II support the OADM frame. The OSN1800V does not support the OADM frame.
In the product documentation, only the physical connection method is described in the method of adding OADM. It is recommended that you complete the document.
Thank you!
