Hi.

My problem is that:

I have a laptop with ip address 172.100.6.1/24, and the switch with vlanif 6, which ip address is 172.100.6.254/24.

the laptop connect to the Gigabite 0/0/1 of the switch. the Gigabite 0/0/1 port link-type access and the default vlan is vlan 6.

But i ping 172.100.6.254 failed. why?

Hi!

Is your laptop directly connected to the switch?

1. Check whether an intermediate device is faulty.

2. Check whether the ports on the switch and laptop are Up.

3. Check the switch policy configuration, whether 172.100.6.1 is disabled.

4. Check whether the firewall on the laptop is restricted.
