S5300 - Remove interface configuration?

Latest reply: Jan 15, 2014 17:40:55 6377 3 0 0

Hello,

I was wondering if there is an easy way to remove all configuration from an interface on an S5300 (S5328C-EI-24S to be specific) layer 3 switch? The software version I'm running is 5.70.

The following commands don't seem to work:

- "undo interface gi 0/0/3"

- "clear configuration interface gi0/0/3"

The former returns "Error: Cannot delete this interface.", the latter is not even present when I enter "clear ?".

Please help!

Kind regards,

Joske

Hi Joske,

Unfortunately on version 5.70 there is no command to remove the configuration from an interface or set it back to default.

The "clear configuration interface" command was introduced in version 5.130.

The easiest way to restore defaults on older versions is to copy the configuration into notepad and either apply the default commands for modes/vlans or use the undo command to remove lines of configuration.

Regards Nigel

Please use CLI  "display version" to check the software version.

and the version format should be like "V200R001C00"

version begin from v200r001C00 supports the CLI "clear configuration ....."
