in fact, you can refer to below document
http://support.huawei.com/hedex/pages/EDOC1000085855AEG05127/13/EDOC1000085855AEG05127/13/resources/dc/dc_cfg_ppp_0020.html?ft=0&fe=10&hib=7.3.5.3.11.4&id=dc_cfg_ppp_0020&text=Example%20for%20Configuring%20Unidirectional%20CHAP%20Authentication%20(Local%20Authentication)&docid=EDOC1000085855

Router A as authenticated side, so the configuration should be like below:
aaa
authentication-scheme system_a
domain system
authentication-scheme system_a --- need configure the authentication-scheme
local-user chapuser password cipher chap123
local-user chapuser privilege level 0
local-user chapuser service-type ppp
#
interface Serial1/0/0
link-protocol ppp
ppp authentication-mode chap domain system
ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.252

Router B as authenticating side, so the configuration should be like below:
interface Serial1/0/0
link-protocol ppp
ppp chap user chapuser
ppp chap password cipher chap123
ip address 1.1.1.2 255.255.255.252
