All parameters are in italics; you can select parameters as required.

Run the following commands to configure agent on a device when the SNMP version of the NMS connected to the device is v1 or v2c.

<HUAWEI> system-view[~HUAWEI] snmp-agent
[~HUAWEI] snmp-agent community read community-nameRun the [~HUAWEI] snmp-agent sys-info version v1 command to configure SNMPv1 on the device.
Run the [~HUAWEI] snmp-agent sys-info version v2c command to configure SNMPv2c on the device.
The read community string configured for the NMS must be identical with that for the device.

Run the following commands to configure agent on a device when the SNMP version of the NMS connected to the device is v3.

<HUAWEI> system-view[~HUAWEI] snmp-agent
[~HUAWEI] snmp-agent sys-info version V3
[~HUAWEI] snmp-agent group v3 group-name authentication
[~HUAWEI] snmp-agent usm-user v3 user-name group-name
The user name used by the NMS for login must be identical with that configured on the device.
