How Do I Change the Stack Port Type on a CE Series Switch?

A: For example, two member switches use 10GE ports for stacking and now need to use 40GE ports for stacking.
  • If services are not running in the stack or there are no requirements on the service interruption time, you can delete 10GE member ports from the logical stack port and then add 40GE member ports to the logical stack port.

  • To ensure uninterrupted service traffic during the switchover, perform the following operations:
The following solutions apply only to the stack of CE8800&7800&6800&5800 series switches instead of the stack of CE12800 series switches.
  • Create a new logical stack port and add 40GE ports in the created logical stack port. Connect the 40GE ports using cables to set up a stack in a ring topology.
  • Remove cables of 10GE ports and delete the stack configuration of these ports.
If the stack has been set up in a ring topology, remove 10GE ports from the logical stack port, remove their cables, add 40GE ports in the logical stack port, and then connect the 40GE ports using cables.
