  • The XGE interfaces on the ES1D2S04SX1E, ES0D0X12SA00, ES0D0T24XA00 and ES0D0S24XA00 boards of the S7700 can work in WAN mode. XGE interfaces on the ES0D0X12SA00 card can switch to the WAN mode only when the transmission distance is within 40 km(V200R005C00 and earlier version) or 80Km(V200R006C00 and later versions).
  • The XGE interfaces on the EH1D2S04SX1E, EH1D2T24XEA0, EH1D2S24XEA0, EH1D2S24XEC0 and EH1D2X12SSA0 boards of the S9700 can work in WAN mode. XGE interfaces on the EH1D2X12SSA0 card can switch to the WAN mode only when the transmission distance is within 40 km(V200R005C00 and earlier version) or 80Km(V200R006C00 and later versions).
  • The XGE interface that works in WAN mode encapsulates Ethernet packets to SDH frames. The Packet over SDH (POS) interface that works in WAN mode encapsulates PPP packets to SDH frames. The two types of SDH frames have different formats, so the XGE interface and POS interface that work in WAN mode cannot communication with each other, which means that they do not support WAN features.
