The S5700 is a gigabit Ethernet switch. The optical interfaces on the S5700 support 100M optical modules, but interfaces on the extended card do not support 100M optical modules.

When a GE optical interface of the S5700 works at 1000 Mbit/s, it can only use a 1000M optical module. When the interface works at 100 Mbit/s, it can use either a 100M optical module or a 1000M optical module.

When two optical interfaces are interconnected, they must use the same type of optical module.
