Dear Colleagues,

I just completed my CCNA and now I have to configure an Huawei Switch, so please excuse any stupid questions.

I tried to configure vtp on a new Huawei S5720.

On the Cisco Switch VTP Pruning Mode is enabled.

How is it possible to receive vtp updates on the Huawei Switch without disabling Pruning Mode on the Cisco Switch?

Configured on the Huawei already:

VCMP Domain

VCMP Role Client

No VCMP password because the VTP Domain has no password

Trunking Ports are working fine (simple trunk with all VLANs allowed)

l2protocol-tunnel vtp vlan 1  on the trunk interface

Is there anything I forgot to configure?

Is it necessary to make changes on the Cisco Trunk port?

I cannot find anything in documentations how to configure VCMP when VTP pruning is enabled. Just that Huawei Switches are not able to operate in pruning mode.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Best Regards
