Configure SNMP trap on a MAC change event on a switchport

If you would like to know if the learned MAC address on a switchport will change and when exactly is happening that without having to go through logs, then you can follow the below procedure to implement it.


Device used: S5720-SI

To do that you can use the command below:

<Huawei>sys

[Huawei]interface GigabitEthernet 0/0/7

[Huawei-GigabitEthernet0/0/7]mac-address trap notification learn


When the change occurs, you may see a similar output like below on the console and you can redirect this alarm to whatever device you may consider for monitoring:
