Hi,

I have an s series switch of type S5700-28X-LI-DC. I need to configure a topology where the s5700 switch will be attached to two uplink routers of type Cisco ASR9k.

As you can see in the picture, i need to configure two links betwwen the s5700 switch and the ASR9K routers. I need the second link (link2) to be a backup link for the first link (link1) so that link2 will only be working if link 1 is down.

How do you suggest i configure these links in active/standby mode ? Is it possible to do it using static routes with different preferences for example ?

Or you can use the Smart Link feature of s5700 if it's L2. See Reliability - Smart Link and Monitor Link section of the configuration guide.
