This post was last edited by Atilla at 2018-11-30 22:47. Hi all,

i have an Huawei CE 6855 switch in use and want to enable the RESTful API for this. The intention for that is, that i want to use the cmdlet Invoke-RestMethod in Powershell.
Does anyone know how i can enable the API for this switch ?

An document for the switch API already exists, see here :

Best regards
Atilla

Hi!
This is a basic function for some devices, doesnt need to be enable.

No in all the family CE 6800 is support it, or in all the VRP Versions,

Plese check the Licensing Requirements and Limitations for the OPS from your device and VRP to ensure it is support it

The standard HTTP request and response include the HTTP header and HTTP packet. The format of the HTTP packet is described in the Content-Type field of the HTTP header. You can specify the format of the response packet supported by the client in the Accept field. Currently the API supports only the XML format. Therefore, specify application/xml for the Content-Type and Accept field values.

Currently, the OPS integrates the Python running environment and can run Python scripts. In a Python script, methods of sending HTTP requests to the system need to be defined based on open RESTful APIs. When the Python script runs, HTTP requests are sent to the system to implement system management.

Please verify in the documentation the part:
Configuration -> Device Management Configuration Guide -> OPS Configuration

For more details
Have a nice day!

The open programmability system (OPS) is an open platform that provides Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interfaces (RESTful APIs) to achieve programmability, allowing third-party applications to run on the platform.
