AR1220 serial interface problem

Latest reply: Sep 1, 2014 21:33:28 1631 2 0 0

Hello,

I am experiencing a problem with serial interfaces connected to modems which are remotely power fed over twisted pairs.

The serial interfaces do not detect the signals coming from the modem. I would like to know if there is a configuration for this kind of scenario.

Thanks in advance

Do you have some simple diagrams to show the problem?

AR1220 serial interface problem-1545695-1

Hello, this is my basic scenario. I am experiencing a problem with the DTE router and modem connection. I use a Serial to V.35 cable. (There is no problem with the modem or the router, they work with other connections).

I started having problems where my ISP deliveries modem NTU-R (remotely power fed equipment).

The serial interface indicates "down hard", both physical and protocol is down.

I tried some setups like "undo detect dsr-dtr" "invert receive clock", but none of them have other result. I check the serial interface with other connections and they worked perfectly.

Any ideas?
