9800 ups optical-layer ASON taking too long to switch

A 9800 ups Optical-layer ASON network, during a fiber failure, is taking too long to switch. Is there any way to improve this time? Because it is affecting the BGP of the routers involved on the client side.

Dear friend!
Please check whether the switching delay is configured. If yes, delete the switching delay or reduce the switching delay.
To prevent the failure of WDM equipment to complete protection switching in a timely manner, you are advised to comply with the following two points:
1. If no protection nesting exists, do not set the WDM switching delay time. (That is, the value of this parameter is 0, and the default value is 0.)
2. When switching is nested, the delay of each nested level of outer protection is increased by 50 ms.

In addition, check whether the ASON rerouting time increases because OCh routes on the WDM network are too complex. If yes, please optimize the WDM network.

Thank you very much for your feedback on the final solution. This indicates that the planning and design may be unreasonable in the early stage of network construction.
