I'm not the most tech savvy, but I recently moved to a new house. I use the Huawei mate SE, and the new wifi we set up has been painfully slow. My roommates all have an option on their phone that says [the wifi network name] followed by 5G. I haven't seen this option, just the WiFi network name. On the old WiFi, the wifi on my phone was just as fast as everyone else's.

I assume that means that my phone doesn't support 5ghz wifi frequency band. Is there any way to access 5ghz? Or Is there any solution (both on the router or on my phone) so the wifi on my phone isn't so slow?10.0.0.0.1

Hi, friend!

First of all, it's not whether your phone supports 5 GHz Wi-Fi.

You need to check whether the router or ONT supports 5 GHz Wi-Fi.

If yes, the following uses the ONT as an example (I only know about Access Network products).

1. Log in to the WebUI of the device.

2. Choose Settings > Wireless Network. In the navigation pane, choose 5G Wireless Basic Configuration. In the right pane, set the basic parameters for the 5G wireless network.

3. After 5 GHz Wi-Fi is enabled, your phone can connect to the 5GHz Wi-Fi.

The Huawei Mate SE phone has the 5G band for Wi-Fi, you should check which 5G band your Ruter has configured and modify the band to see if you solve the problem.

The 10.0.0.0.1 is actually a mis-typed wrong IP address that someone types when they add an extra zero in the URL, ideally the correct keyword is 10.0.0.1 and is used as the default gateway address for Xfinity router admin settings and few other router brands. This IP address is also referred to as a router IP which falls under private Class -A IP address range.

However, note that apart from 10.0.0.1, you would find numerous IP addresses that routers use as their default gateway like 192.168.0.1 and 10.1.10.1. At times it usually gets difficult to remember your Wi-Fi network name also known as SSID. Moreover, it is normal for you to change the password from time to time for security reasons. The easiest way to do that is to know properly about 10.0.0.1. So let’s assess how important it is to know about 10.0.0.1.

In case you are unable to find the username and password of the router, you have to reset it to the default settings. Moreover, when you have connected the router through the 10.0.0.1, the 10.0.0.0.1 wouldn’t exist. Here is the guide I found which helped in fixing the router login issue. This guide will help with multiple routers like xfinity comcast, netgear etc.
