5G-ACIA has been established to serve as the central and global forum for addressing, discussing and evaluating relevant technical, regulatory and business aspects with respect to 5G for the industrial domain.

Some of the industrial automation requirements will not be addressed in the first release of 5G, which mainly focuses on eMBB. Instead, these requirements are expected to be addressed in future releases, in particular Release 16. Motion control appears the most challenging and demanding.
