525s -23a no internet when ethernet is connected

Just purchased the 525s for 4g internet as best option in my rural location. I have 2018 mac pro lap top on osx 10.13.6 and this is connected to all drives, monitors etc via the CALDIGT TS3 plus thunderbolt station. As hoped I have obtained a good internet connection from the 525s but can only connect to my laptop thru wi-fi which due to the thick walls of my old rural house means I'm compromised on speed and stabilty.

The 525s is located in one room for the best 4g connectivity whilst my computer workspace is set up in another. I would like to connect an ethernet cable between the 525s and my lap top but as soon as a cable is pushed into the Huawei [ I've tried all the ports 1-2-3-4] all internet connection stops.

Wifi no longer supplies internet access and on checking ethernet settings in the Huawei web browser it shows connection status as disconnected, connection mode: LAN disconnected and IP address, default gateway, Primary and secondary DNS servers all read as unknown.


I've never had this kind of issue before with any other routers including my old TP Link Archer 200 LTE 4g which is a similar machine to the 525s.

I would appreciate any advise or assitance in getting the Huawei to function with wifi and ethernet
