HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)

Hello!

This post enquires about an issue with 3 x SUN2000 L1 5kW Inverters across 3-Phase Supply. Please see below for a detailed description.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

A customer would like to install 3 x 5kW inverters with 5kW of PV, with each inverter wired to a different phase. His preference is for this solution, as he doesn't want to have a single point of failure with one larger 3-Phase inverter.

A few questions:

  • Can these inverters be set up in a master/slave configuration, even across different phases?

  • Will the monitoring show 3 separate sites or can this all be combined into one?

  • Are there any downsides of this solution compared with a single 3-Phase inverter?

Thank you in advance for shedding some light over this issue with 3 x SUN2000 L1 5kW Inverters across 3-Phase Supply!

I don't think there's any problem with this solution, and it'll be advantageous in terms of zero power grid-tied control.

1. In master/slave configuration is only the communication networking mode, which can be set to master/slave,

2. Monitoring If you use an SDongle to cascade the communication of inverters, you can combine them into one site. Of course, you can also use 3 SDongles to divide into three sites.

3. From my point of view, there are no drawbacks. The three inverters can be connected to 15 kW, and more than 5 kW.

Installed 3 units 5KTL-L1 on 3phases
Running fine no problem.
Setting, Commisioning done on master Inverter will propagate to slaves.
Use smartdongle and 3P powersensor if you need to have zero export.3 x SUN2000 L1 5kW Inverters across 3-Phase Supply-4591829-1

Three single-phase meters can be considered.

Yes, you could but you have to pull extra RS485 cables from panels to inverter. and inverter com port will full of cables,

RS485 at master
Batt comm,
Inverter cascading (to Slave),
Luna enabler,
Powersensors,
DI contact

Yes, but it would be much better in terms of power three-phase balancing
