Dear all,

Is it possible to use 1Gb SFP modules in 10Gb SFP+ ports of CE6810 switch?

Also I can't find what modes supported in 10G Base-T Ports of this switch, only 10Gb or also 1Gb, 100Mb 10Mb?

Best Regards

Hello,

It is not possible to use 1Gb SFP modules in 10Gb SFP ports, it's needed to use 10Gb SFP modules in 10Gb SFP ports.

Hello,

Thank you for reply.

What about speeds supported by 10G Base-T ports?

Hello,

I come back with new information, for switch CE6810-32T16S4Q-LI, for 10GE optical interface we can use a 1 Ge optical module with rate 1000 Mb/s ,10 Ge optical module with rate 10000 Mb/s and 1 Ge copper module.
For 1 Ge copper module the default rate is 1000 Mbit/s. In auto-negotiation mode, the interface can negotiate with the remote interface to work at the rate of 10 Mbit/s or 100 Mbit/s. In non-auto-negotiation mode, the interface can be configured to work at the rate of 10 Mbit/s, 100 Mbit/s, or 1000 Mbit/s using the speed { 10 | 100 | 1000 } command.

Hello,

Is somewhere available information about CE6810-32T16S4Q-LI more detailed than on this page
http://e.huawei.com/ru/related-page/products/enterprise-network/switches/data-center-switches/ce6800/brochure/switch-ce6800
where, in particular, your information can be found?

I have 1Gb SFP modules working with HP switches, will they work with CE6810-32T16S4Q-LI?

Thank you again.

Finally, I found document "Huawei CloudEngine 8800&7800&6800&5800 Hardware Description" where described applicable SFP modules and "10GBASE-T Ethernet Electrical Port":

"A 10GBASE-T Ethernet electrical port receives and sends services at a speed of 100 Mbit/s,
1000 Mbit/s, or 10 Gbit/s. The port can work in 100/1000M mode through auto-sensing." This post was last edited by eviani at 2018-03-28 13:50.

hello,

Here you have a nice tool to have. Just select the model you have and transceiver type and the tool will tell you whether are compatible or no.

Hello,

Thanks for the nice tool.

Is QSFP+ AOC means also breakout optical cable 4x10G SFP+?

And what means "A 40GE optical interface on a switch running a version earlier than V100R005C00 and a 40GE optical interface on a switch running V100R005C00 or a later version cannot be connected using a QSFP+ AOC. You are advised to upgrade the system software of the two switches to the same version or replace the transmission medium."? QSFP+ AOC can be used with CE6810-32T16S4Q-LI?

Yes, You can break QSFP+ to 4*SFP+ AOC cable.

That's a configuration notice from product documentation.

Are new switches have software version necessary for using QSFP+ AOC?
And unclear what version needed earlier than V100R005C00 or later?
