Dear friend！

Tributary protection switching (TPS) only provides board-level protection. It uses one service board to protect N service boards of the same board type. TPS switches services from a working board to the protection board when it detects a faulty working board. Details

The 1+1 protection provides at the board-level protection and the line channel level protection. It is implemented through the principle of dual fed and selective receiving.

For board-level 1+1 protection, such as 1+1 protection for cross-connect and timing boards and 1+1 protection for system control boards.

For line channel level 1+1 protection, such as PW APS 1+1 protection, tunnel APS 1+1 protection, 1+1 linear MSP, and 1+1 ASON protection.

Hi Dear,
We always hear that 1+1 protection or 1:1 protection in service transmit, especially in Huawei SDH and DWDM transmission fields, and there are special protection boards such as Huawei OSN8800 protection board DCP, OLP.

hello .
TPS is tributary protection system is used mainly in SDH for protecting Tributary boards for example in OSN 7500 you can protect 4 in service PQ1 boards by one PQ1 board , so if any one of working got faulty a switching to the standby board occures.

1+1 is line protection for example for optical line or Tunnel .
the 1+1 means to send signal in both paths in Tx and to select best received signal in the Rx ( selective receiving)
