Blacklist is one of security features of the firewall. The most important feature of blacklist is that it can be added or deleted dynamically by the firewall. Compared with ACL-based packet filter, the blacklist filters IP addresses only. Therefore it can filter packets in a high speed, which effectively shields the packets sent from the specific IP address. You can create blacklist entry in two ways:
When firewall discovers the attack attempt of a specific IP address based on the packet action, it can automatically modify its blacklist to filter all the packets sent from the specific address. |
