Enhanced PLC is an enhanced frame loss compensation algorithm, which is applicable to any networking mode, for example, in the networking of visited mobile switching center (VMSC), tandem mobile switching center (TMSC), and gateway mobile switching center (GMSC), in the VMSC and GMSC integrated networking, or in the networking of an integrated gateway exchange.

Enhanced PLC on the UMG8900 can be set to the following status:

DISABLE: It indicates that the enhanced PLC feature is disabled. In this mode, the UMG8900 uses the common PLC algorithm rather than the enhanced PLC algorithm to compensate the lost frames.
ENABLE: It indicates that the enhanced PLC feature is enabled. In this mode, the UMG8900 performs enhanced PLC for the received standard tone frames.

To enable the enhanced PLC feature, the following requirements must be met:

The enhanced PLC feature item is enabled in the license file.
The value of the enhanced PLC feature is set to ENABLE on the man-machine language (MML) interface.
The G.711 (the enhanced PLC feature supports only 5-ms or 20-ms packetization time), adaptive multi-rate (AMR), AMR2, or global system for mobile communications (GSM) enhanced full rate (EFR) codec in the wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) codec set, GSM codec set, and global system for mobile communications high rate (GSM-HR) codec set is supported.

PLC feature has given the following requirements:
