This feature is introduced in UMG8900 V200R005C10.

Summary: The UMG8900 can be connected to the digital circuit multiplication equipment (DCME)

supporting the Q.50 protocol.

Carriers can flexibly deploy the DCME to reduce the cost of transmission.

Description:The UMG8900 can be connected to the DCME supporting the Q.50 protocol.

The DCME can save the transmission trunk through voice data compression and digital speech interpolation. The Q.50 protocol stipulates the following:

  • The CN informs the DCME whether a current service is a data service or speech service.
  • The CN instructs the DCME whether a service should be compressed. Data services are not compressed.
  • The DCME informs the CN when the service load is full. Then, the CN will not assign new services.

The DCME that does not complies with the Q.50 protocol can automatically identify whether a service is a data service or speech service, without the cooperation of the core network side. Therefore, when such a DCME is used, this feature must be disabled on the UMG8900.

Dependency:  This feature is applied when the UMG8900 interworks with the DCME that complies with the

Q.50 protocol.

This feature is applicable to the VMSC, GMSC, and TMSC

The DCME can save the transmission trunk through voice data compression and digital speech interpolation. It is the one of the best feature for User.

Positive thinking in the TX point of view.

All the feature described upon are regularly required for analysis purpose.
