PuTTY Operations

Scenarios

After the client of HUAWEI Operation & Maintenance System is installed, the PuTTY tool is generated. You can log in to the PuTTY to switch to the Linux operating system (OS) of the board, where you can run shell commands.

This section describes the functions of the PuTTY, and how to log in to and exit the PuTTY.

The PuTTY is an open-source tool for free and provides the terminal emulation program and supports the SSH, Telnet, rlogin, and the pure TCP connection mode. The current version in use is PuTTY 0.62. For details about the PuTTY tool, access http://www.putty.org/.

Impact on the System

This operation has no adverse impact on the system.

Prerequisites

Conditions

The client of HUAWEI Operation & Maintenance System has been installed properly.

Data

  • Obtain the IP address of the target board from the system administrator.
  • Confirm with the system administrator whether an OSS agent is required to connect to the target server. If yes, obtain the type and the IP address of the OSS agent from the system administrator.

Procedure

Logging in to the PuTTY
  1. Double-click the shortcut icon http://localhost:7904/pages/CEC1230A/01/CEC1230A/01/resources/cnup/reference/general_opt/figure/fig_cn_46_19_00020901.png on the desktop or choose Start > Programs > HUAWEI Operation & Maintenance System > PuTTY to open the PuTTY Configuration window, as shown in Figure 1.
