The main RF antenna parameters

The main RF antenna parameters are:

·         Band (frequency range) usually in [MHz]

·         Gain     - in [dBd] towards dipole reference antenna

                  - in [dBi] towards isotropic reference antenna

·          VSWR … voltage stand wave ration, always > 1, (smaller number is better)

·         Impedance in [W]

·         Polarization     - X polarization (± 45°)

                              - V polarization

·         Front o back ratio - in [dB] is gain ratio between front lobe and back lobe (smaller number is better)

·         Half power beam width (for 3 dB gain decreasing)        - for horizontal pattern

                                                                                          - for vertical pattern

·         Isolation in [dB] - just for X polarization  antennas, isolation between two antenna systems

·         Electrical tilt in [°]        … fixed or adjusted electrical tilt for vertical plane of antenna
