MAP Protocol Overview: Comparison of Function Versions
|
Differences between MAP versions: lMAP Phase1: Basic supplementary services are supported, but CAMEL and GPRS functions are not. The supported basic supplementary services are BAOC and BOIC. lMAP Phase 2: CAME and GPRS functions are not supported. Based on the supplementary services in phase 1, the supplementary service functions are enhanced, for example, call waiting, call hold, and multi-party cakk. lMAP Phase 2+: The main difference between phase 2+ and phase2 is that phase 2+ supports CAMEL and GPRS functions. CAMEL phase 1 and CAMEL phase 2 are supported in MAP Phase 2+ only. The added GPRS functions are mainly intended to complete joint location update by GSM/GPRS mixed users. In addition, new functions, such as the LCS, are added in phase 2+. |
