The UGW9811 supports the following OCS server selection modes (in descending order by priority), which can be used by carriers according to network deployment requirements. · Using the OCS server as specified by the PCRF A PCRF can be deployed for online information management and PCC. The UGW9811 can select an OCS server according to the OCS ID delivered by the PCRF. · Using the OCS server as specified by the AAA server An AAA server can be deployed for online information management and PCC. The AAA server informs the UGW9811 of an OCS server to be used by using the OCS ID information element in an authentication response message during an activation procedure. · Using the OCS server as specified in the user profile configuration When subscribers are activated, the UGW9811 selects user profiles based on international mobile subscriber identity/mobile station international ISDN number/international mobile station equipment identity and software version (IMSI/MSISDN/IMEISV) segments, RAT types, charging characteristics, roaming status, and location areas, and then selects OCS servers based on online charging templates that are bound to the user profiles. · Using the OCS server as specified in the APN configuration One OCS server is used by subscribers of one APN so that the UGW9811 selects OCS servers based on the APN. The OCS server can be deployed in different networks. · Using the OCS server based on the UGW9811 One OCS server is used by all the subscribers of one public land mobile network (PLMN) so that an OCS server is selected based on the UGW9811. This method is applicable to networks with a small number of subscribers and can reduce operation expenditures |
