knowledge sharing: Difference Between Unplanned GR and Planned GR
|
During the unplanned GR, the restarter does not send any Grace LSA before the active/standby switchover, that is, the restarter does not instruct its neighbor to enter the Helper state. The restarter sends a Grace LSA after the active main control board becomes the standby main control board. Therefore, the GR period cannot be greater than the value of the dead timer. IETF GR has a graceful period timer. The value of the timer needs to be negotiated by the restarter and the helper, and finally is negotiated as the value of the timer on the restarter. The default value of the timer is 120s. |
