With the Common Clock feature, all modes of a multimode base station share a clock source and requires only one set of clock equipment.
The Common Clock feature applies to GSM/UMTS, GSM/LTE, or UMTS/LTE dual-mode and GSM/UMTS/LTE triple-mode base stations. The Common Clock feature helps reduce operating expense (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX).
A multimode base station can be configured with the following common reference clocks:

GPS reference clock
Building integrated timing supply (BITS) reference clock
E1/T1 reference clock
IEEE 1588v2 reference clock
Synchronous Ethernet reference clock
1PPS+TOD reference clock
