ADSL Services Over PPPoE

Hi Dears:

Could someone help me? I want to configure ADSL service, using a PPPoE.  I follow this model to configure the connection with the BRAS. According this model,the user request an dinamic IP directly to the BRAS.

But the real scenario in my project is shown in the figure below. The MSAN  is not directly connected to the BRAS, exist a router between them. The first request of the user, in this case, will be in the Router, not the BRAS.

1-How can I configure the ADSL service over PPPoE in this scenario?

2-If some user needs to get to an public IP, how can we perform this case?

But I?m not sure if this is the right way to follow. First configure commissioning the BRAS connection and then, configure an ADSL service over PPPoE?

Q1: How can I configure the ADSL service over PPPoE in this scenario?

A1: This is set in the BRAS, you need to config the BAS Interface, Access Type of User, and Authentication Method.

for example:

system-view

interface interface-type interface-number

bas

authentication-method ppp

Q2-If some user needs to get to an public IP, how can we perform this case?  

A2: It depends on the attribute of DHCP server and IP address pool , this is also set in the BRAS.

in general, the user ip got from pppoe dial-up is already a public IP address.

From the view of MSAN , these steps should be followed:

1/VLAN and the ip address of the VLAN interface

2/Service port for the ADSL user with given vpi, vci

3/Static route to the BRAS (destination ip) from the nexthop address (Gateway ip)

You can use the PPPoE dialup emulation to determine the network connectivity between the MSAN and the BRAS.

If the PPPoE emulation dialing result is success, that is, simulating interaction between the user and the BRAS is successful, the user can access the Internet in the PPPoE access mode. And the IP address is assigned by the BRAS.

If the PPPoE emulation dialing result is not success, please provide the configurations of your configuration file and verification result to us for fault locating.
