As shown in Figure 9-5, User A accesses R1 through the dedicated line. The applied bandwidth is 10 Mbit/s. User A has three services: voice, video, and data. Among which, the peak bandwidth of voice service is 0.5 Mbit/s; the peak bandwidth of video service is 2 Mbit/s; the peak bandwidth of data service is 7.5 Mbit/s.

User A wants to ensure the voice and video when the data traffic is more than 7.5 Mbit/s; when the voice service and the video service are not required, the data traffic can reach 10 Mbit/s.

If the services of multiple users that are similar to User A converge on R1 and access to R2 in the Asynchronous Transfer Mode Permanent Virtual Circuit (ATM PVC) mode. R1 needs to guarantee the bandwidths of multiple users.

R1 and R2 are connected in ATM PVC mode. Remark the packets according to different services on the interfaces that connect R1 to users. Configure HQoS on the PVCs that connect R1 to R2 according to the users requirements for the bandwidth. In this manner, each service of each user can be guaranteed.
