Symptom

The subscriber cannot hear tones, including dial tones, special dial tone, ringback tone, ringing tone, various busy tones, howler tone, and call waiting tone.

Possible Causes

  • The MGW or terminal does not register with the SoftX3000.
  • The subscriber port is locked.
  • The external cable is faulty.
  • The equipment does not work normally.

Fault Diagnosis

Figure 1 shows the procedure for troubleshooting the MGW/terminal tone playing failure.

Procedure

    Check the Registration of the MGW

    Check Whether the Subscriber Port Is Locked

    Check Whether the External Cable is Faulty

    Check Whether the MGW Is Running Normally

    Collect the Signaling Messages
