In the MNP service: - After an MNP subscriber is ported to a new network, the donor network no longer provides service support. The recipient network provides all services for the ported subscriber, and the services offered by the donor network do not affect the services offered by the recipient network.
- The recipient network of the porting process allocates a new International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) to a ported subscriber.
- The MSISDN can be ported more than once among multiple networks, and a ported MSISDN can be ported back to its donor network. Therefore, the MSISDN cannot be used to identify the subscription network of an MNP subscriber.
- MNP subscribers can use the same services as non-MNP subscribers on the same subscription network, but with slightly lower Quality of Service (QoS). For example, MNP subscribers may wait longer for their calls to be established.
