Fault handling: Unknown PDP addr or PDP type.

Symptom

When a subscriber sends a PDP context activation request to the SGSN, the SGSN rejects the request with the cause value of Unknown PDP addr or PDP type.

Possible Causes

The GGSN returns a message indicating an activation failure when establishing the GTPv1 tunnel between the SGSN and GGSN.

Procedure

Locate and rectify the fault with the failure cause value of Unknown PDP address or PDP type on the GGSN.

1.     Contact technical support engineers of the GGSN to locate and rectify the fault with the failure cause value of Unknown PDP address or PDP type.

2.     After rectifying the fault, check whether the subscriber can be successfully re-activated.

·         Yes: The handling procedure is complete.

·         No: Go to 3.
