1. Application Description

1) Service Description

eNodeB data planning is a key process in wireless network deployment. The customer can refer to the data planning result to make eNodeB data configuration scripts during eNodeB initial configuration.

Network planning must be completed before eNodeB data planning. Network planning includes:

  • Hardware configuration planning, such as the cabinet, subrack, slot, and port planning
  • Transmission networking planning, such as layer-2 or layer-3 networking planning and IP address planning
  • Radio network planning, such as the cell ID planning and neighboring cell planning
  • Feature planning, including features to be activated and algorithms to be used

Network planning is closely related to the network, and is completed by professional service staff generally. Only after the network planning is complete, the eNodeB data planning can be performed.

There are many different data planning methods. The method introduced here is implemented based on the parameter reference and MO reference.

The parameter reference is an excel file. The parameter references are different for different eNodeBs and versions.

 When planning data for DBS3900s or DBS5900s, use Node Parameter Reference and eNodeBFunction Parameter Reference. Node Parameter Reference lists information about public parameters, and eNodeBFunction Parameter Reference lists information about only LTE parameters.

2. Highlights

1) The parameter reference provides parameters that are in the charge of different service teams.

2) Parameter reference provides suggested initial values of parameters.

The following figure shows sources of the initial values of parameters.

The following figure shows the process of determining the initial value of a parameter.

3) The parameter reference provides detailed technical descriptions of parameters.

When configuring a parameter, you can refer to the MO reference to learn about the MO to which the parameter belongs and relationships between this parameter and other parameters. You can use feature name and feature ID to identify parameters related to this parameter and use the feature name or ID to find related FPD to learn about implementation details of the parameter.
