Embedded VIG

The UMG8900 supports the embedded VIG function. It can cooperate with the MSC server to providediversifiedvideo communications services. With the embedded VIG function enabled on the UMG8900, the video interworkingbetween mobile networks and IMS and NGN networks canbe realized without deploymentof an independent VIG . This function has the following advantages:

Simplifying the networking
Reducing indirect voice channels
Decreasing call delay
Improvingquality of video calls
Cutting the CAPEX and OPEXof carriers

The  UMG8900 supports the Windowed Numbered Simple Retransmission Protocol (WNSRP)  technology to realizequick call connection; it can interwork with the Multimedia Ring Back T one (MRBT) platform to play multimedia ringback tones for3G video terminals.

In addition to the interworking in the control plane, multiplexing and demultiplexing in the
bearer plane, and codec conversion in the media plane, the UMG8900 also supports the following features and functions with the embedded VIG function:

H.263 and MPEG-4 video codecs
H.245 video call control and H.223 video service multiplexing protocols
Convergence of video andvoice
Lawful interception of multiplexing multimedia streams

The UMG8900, adopting flexible and extensible software and hardware architectures, can provide extended services after a softwareupgrade.
