How to configure the Service Capacity for OTN device?

Take the version R14C60 as an example. The license file records the information about the service type and service capacity that are supported by the NE in a network. In the case of the NE, you need to configure the service type and service capacity in compliance with the license and according to the actual requirements. In this manner, you can plan and configure the service type and service capacity for each master and slave subracks. Prerequisites 1. You are an NMS user with "Maintenance Group" authority or higher. 2. It is applicable to the OptiX OSN 8800 seriesOptiX OSN 9560, OptiX OSN 9600/9800 series, OptiX OSN 8800(NA) series NE. 3. The OptiX OSN 8800 seriesOptiX OSN 9560, OptiX OSN 9600/9800 series, OptiX OSN 8800(NA) series NE is created successfully. 4. The license is configured properly. Procedure •Configure the service capacity for a master subrack in the NE Configuration Wizard dialog box. 1. Double-click the optical NE with unconfigured subrack in the Main Topology. Then, double-click the unconfigured subrack in the left pane and the NE Configuration Wizard dialog box is displayed. 2. Choose Manual Configuration and click Next. The Confirm dialog box is displayed indicating that the manual configuration clears the data on the NE. 3. Click OK. The Confirm dialog box is displayed indicating that the manual configuration interrupts the service on the NE. 4. Click OK. The Set NE Attribute dialog box is displayed. 5. After you set Cross-Connect Type of Master Shelf and Cross-Connect Capacity of Master Shelf, click Next to display the slot layout of the NE. 6. Optional: Click Query Logical Information to query the logical boards of the NE. 7. Optional: Click Query Physical Information to query the physical boards of the NE. 8. Right-click on the slot to add a board. Click Next to display the Send Configuration window. 9. Choose Verify and Run as required and click Finish. NOTE: A verification is performed by running the verification command. Click Finish to apply the configuration to NEs and the basic configuration of the NEs is complete. After a successful verification, the NEs start to function properly. 10. Optional: Modify the service capacity for a subrack. In the NE Panel interface, right-click on the right pane and choose Modify Shelf Attribute from the shortcut menu. The Modify Shelf attribute dialog box is displayed. Modify Cross-Connect Type and Cross-Connect Capacity, and click OK. |

Configure the service capacity for a master subrack or slave subrack in the NE Panel user interface. 1. On the Main Topology, double-click an optical NE and the NE Panel is displayed. In the left pane of the NE Panel, select the NE. 2. Optional: Configure or modify the service capacity for a master subrack. In the right pane, right-click on the master subrack and choose Modify Shelf Attribute from the shortcut menu. The Modify Shelf attribute dialog box is displayed. Modify Cross-Connect Type and Cross-Connect Capacity, and click OK. NOTE: When the service capacity is not set for the master subrack in the NE Configuration Wizard dialog box, you can configure the service type and service capacity for the master subrack in this step. When the service capacity is set for the master subrack in the NE Configuration Wizard dialog box, you can modify the service type and service capacity for the master subrack in this step. 3. Configure the service capacity for a slave subrack. In the right pane, right-click and choose Add Slave Shelf from the shortcut menu. The Add Slave Shelf dialog box is displayed. 4. Set Cross-Connect Type, Cross-Connect Capacity and relevant parameters, and click OK. 5. Optional: Modify the service capacity for a slave subrack. In the right pane, right-click on a slave subrack and choose Modify Shelf Attribute from the shortcut menu. The Modify Shelf attribute dialog box is displayed. Modify Cross-Connect Type and Cross-Connect Capacity, and click OK. |
