After installing the U2000, you may encounter some problems, such as the inconsistency of alarm generation time between an IP NE and the U2000, failure of managing NEs on the U2000, and failure of applying configurations using the U2000. These problems may be caused by the omission of some configuration items during IP network commissioning. To know all the necessary operations to be performed after the installation, read the IP Network Commissioning part in the U2000 product documentation.

Recommendation Reason

The U2000 product documentation instructs you to perform configuration throughout the entire IP network commissioning process.

Contents

After installing the U2000, you need to perform the following configuration operations to enable the U2000 to properly manage IP NEs:

·Configuring the Communication Between the U2000 and NEs: describes how to configure an SNMP parameter

template, Telnet/STelnet parameter template, NetConf parameter template, and xFTP detection before NE

discovery to ensure the connectivity between the U2000 and NEs.

·Creating a Topology: describes how to create a submap, discover NEs in batches, select a layout mode, and

establish a basic management environment.

·Creating a Link: describes how to create links between NEs.

·Configuring the NE Time: describes how to set the NE time zone and daylight saving time (DST) and configure

NE time synchronization to ensure that the NE time is consistent with the U2000 time.

·Configuring NAT Mapping: describes how to configure the NAT mapping to ensure that data can be properly

transmitted between the U2000 and NEs in a NAT networking scenario.

·Synchronizing NE Data: describes how to synchronize NE data to ensure that the parameter and service

settings of NEs can be properly applied.

Obtaining Method

Log in to Huawei Support website (http://support.huawei.com). Choose Support > Product Support > Fixed Network > Network Management > U2000 > U2000 Common > iManager U2000, and select the U2000 product documentation of V100R009 or later.

Then enter "IP Network Commissioning" for search.
