Symptom ·A user fails to add an NE to the U2000 and a message indicating that the NE already exists is displayed. ·A user fails to add an NE to the U2000 and a message indicating that the NE does not respond is displayed. ·When a user attempts to add an NE to the U2000, a message is displayed, requiring the user to select the correct NE type. ·When a user attempts to add an NE to the U2000, a message indicating that the NE cannot be added to the U2000 using SNMPv1 is displayed. ·When a user attempts to add an NE to the U2000, the desired NE type is unavailable in the NE type navigation tree. ·When a user attempts to add an NE to the U2000, a message indicating a parameter error is displayed. ·After a user creates an NE on the U2000, the U2000 fails to automatically discover the NE.
A user fails to add an NE to the U2000 and a message indicating that the NE already exists is displayed. Possible Causes: ·The IP address or MAC address of the NE conflicts with that of an NE that has been added to the U2000. ·The list of interface IP addresses (ipAddrTable) configured on the NE contains the management IP address of an NE that has been added to the U2000.
Procedure: 1. Check whether the NE IP address already exists by pressing Ctrl+F in the topology view and searching for the IP address. 2. If the U2000 version is V100R002C01SPC501, V100R003CP1332, or V100R006, you can check the U2000 operation log for information about the conflict. To view the U2000 operation log, choose Administration > Log Management > Query Operation Logs from the main menu. Locate the operation log for "Create Device Manually" and view the detailed information.
A user fails to add an NE to the U2000 and a message indicating that the NE does not respond is displayed. Possible Causes: The communication between the U2000 server and the NE fails. For example, they cannot ping each other or cannot use SNMP to communicate with each other.
Procedure: 1. Check whether the U2000 server and the NE can ping each other. 2. Check whether SNMP parameters are correctly configured on the NE.
When a user attempts to add an NE to the U2000, a message is displayed, requiring the user to select the correct NE type. Possible Causes: The NE type selected from the NE type navigation tree is incorrect.
Procedure: Select the correct NE type from the NE type navigation tree.
When a user attempts to add an NE to the U2000, the desired NE type is unavailable in the NE type navigation tree. Possible Causes: Generally, this problem occurs if a component is not installed, for example, the IP domain component. If the U2000 version is V100R002 or V100R003, this problem may occur because a license item corresponding to the NE management process is unavailable.
Procedure: Start the MSuite and check the installation components. Verify that the required NE management component is installed. If the problem is caused by a license issue, apply for the required license, update the license file, and load the license.
When a user attempts to add an NE to the U2000, a message indicating that the NE cannot be added to the U2000 using SNMPv1 is displayed. Possible Causes: This problem occurs only when an ME60 or MA5200 series NE is to be added.
Procedure: Use SNMPv2, not SNMPv1, to add the NE to the U2000.
When a user attempts to add an NE to the U2000, a message indicating a parameter error is displayed. Possible Causes: Generally, this problem occurs if the desired process is not started or the required IP component is not installed.
Procedure: On the System Monitor, verify that the NE management process is started. If the process is unavailable, ensure that the required IP component is installed and the associated license is available.
After a user creates an NE on the U2000, the U2000 fails to automatically discover the NE. Possible Causes: SNMP parameter settings for automatic NE discovery are inconsistent with those configured during NE creation. If the manually set NE type for automatic NE discovery is different from the NE type to be added, no NE type is selected by default during automatic NE discovery.
Procedure: Modify SNMP parameters for automatic NE discovery to make them consistent with those set during NE creation. Before performing automatic NE discovery, do not set the NE type.
